Welcome to Red Class!
Dear Parent and Carers,
Welcome to Red Class! We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and are feeling excited for the start of this new chapter in your child’s learning journey. It’s a joy to welcome both familiar and new faces into our school community, and we are looking forward to a term filled with curiosity, creativity, and growth.
Reception is a special year where children begin to explore the world around them through play, discovery, and meaningful experiences. Our classroom and outside learning garden are designed to be nurturing and stimulating environments where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn.
Block One- Where am I? During block one we will be finding out about the world around us and our local community. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be focusing on settling in building friendships, and establishing routines. You’ll notice your child developing independence, confidence, and a love for learning. We’ll keep you updated with regular newsletters, photos on tapestry, and opportunities to come and see what we’ve been up to.
Reading
We ask that the children read every day at home and that a short comment is written in the reading record and signed. This comment lets us know how the children read at home.
WOW moments
We want you to feel as involved as possible in your child’s education. Unfortunately, as teachers we do not get to see or experience those special WOW moments when the children are at home. We would like to share these moments with you if and when possible, therefore we have provided you with some proud leaves. These are for you to write down short comments of something special your child has done at home; from writing their name for the first time to explaining something they have seen that has interested them and you. It could be absolutely anything and the more the better!
PE
The children will have PE on Monday and Thursday. PE kits stay at school on their own peg. As always, long hair must be tied up and all jewellery removed.
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or simply want to chat about your child’s progress, please speak to me at the end of the day or contact the office.
Here’s to a fantastic autumn term together!
Warm regards,
Mrs Taylor, Mrs Fisher and Mrs T
