Welcome to Red Class!

Welcome to Red Class! We are your Reception teachers Mrs Rainbow (Mon-Wed), and Miss Fitzgerald (Thu-Fri). We have Mrs Duxbury to support us.

Our topic this term is 'Look up, Look down, What is all around?'. We will be learning all about the environment around us starting from outer space to the plants and trees that are in the ground. We are going to learn about our senses and explore them through hands on, fun and interesting activities in our learning garden and classroom. In July we are going to Fingeringhoe Wick to do pond dipping and bug hunting. To explore all around us, we are going to be learning about plants, animals, light and rainbows. We have a range of artistic activities planned where we will be printing, painting, cutting, gluing and sticking! We are going to be talking a lot about safety and how to look after ourselves not just in person but online too. Our bodies are amazing and we will be talking about growing and changing as well. In maths we will start to look at doubling, adding / taking away, odd / even numbers and counting to 100!

We will have P.E every Monday morning so please ensure that your child comes to school with a PE kit. Please also make sure that your child brings their named school water bottle and book bag every day. In their bags they will have their reading log and school book. Please feel free to  write a comment about how they are getting on with their Reading at home.

Please continue to regularly check DB Primary for any updates or information about what your children will be learning:

We are so privileged and excited to see your children grow and progress over the year. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us via email or at pick up once all the children have been collected. We can also point you in the right direction to any educational websites, activities or good books that you can do or read with your child at home.

Thank you,

Mrs Rainbow and Miss Fitzgerald
