King's Ford Infant School And Nursery

'Where everyone matters and every day counts'

Welcome to Blue Class!

I am Mrs. Canham the Purple Class teacher and I work with Mrs. Carlin in Blue class.

This term our learning is based around the question ‘What is it like to live on an Island?’

We will be learning about the geography of the United Kingdom and focusing our study on Scotland. We will meet a little girl called Katie Morag who lives on the Isle Of Struay. She will show us her fantastic Island and we will learn about the different features of Islands.

In Year 2, we run a reading challenge, where we encourage your child to read to you three times a week. Each week we will check their reading diaries and award certificates to the children who have done this. Please do sign your child's reading diary so they can collect their reward.

Please bring your book bag everyday as we have lots of reading helpers who would love to read with you. You also need it to take home letters and things that you’ve made at school. For more information on our topic please see the topic web for this term which goes into more detail regarding some of the learning planned for this term.

We have PE twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, please make sure that your child wears their kit to school on these days. This term we will be having PE outside, so please ensure your child has a tracksuit to wear. Please make sure that your child is not wearing jewellery.

We are really looking forward to settling the children back into school after such a long time away from school. We will be posting updates on our new Db Primary class page. If you have any questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to contact one of us either through Db Primary or the school office admin e-mail address.

Many thanks for your support
