Welcome to Blue Class. Our teacher is Mrs. Canham and out teaching assistant is Mrs. Carlin.
Welcome to the Summer Term in Blue class.
Our topic is ‘Up, up and away’. We are going to be carrying out lots of scientific work involving plants. We are studying the habitat in our immediate area and comparing and contrasting it with a beach. We will be investigating Australia too.
As well as playtime and lunchtime we go out most days to keep our hearts healthy. When it is sunny the children will need a hat and suncream. Please also let them wear sensible shoes.
Our outdoor learning continues as we feed the birds, check on our plants and work outside when we can.
Even if you don’t have time to look at the homework please could you continue to share books with your child. It really is the best way to help them.
A copy of the weekly homework letters will also be available here on the school website. A paper copy of the homework letter will be sent out on Fridays in pupils’ ‘Home – School Journals’. Please ensure homework has been completed and sign the letter. The journals should be returned to school for the following Friday.
When your child has read three times at home they can collect a reading certificate to stick in their reading record. They love collecting them and it is a good way to encourage them to read with you or by themselves.
We have swimming on Monday and P.E on Wednesday afternoon.
For swimming your child must have a towel, costume and swimming. They can bring goggles if they would like to.
Please make sure that your child’s P.E. bag is in school. It is so important to name clothes and shoes to ensure that they don’t get lost. Remember to take out earrings in advance too.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Canham or another member of the year two team.
