Welcome to Blue Class. Our teacher is Mrs. Canham and out teaching assistant is Mrs. Carlin.
Welcome to the Spring Term in Blue class.
We are having some specialist dance teachers working with us. Lauren and Michelle are with us on Tuesday afternoons so please have your kit at school on Tuesday and Wednesday this half term.
Our topic is ‘Once upon a time’ and we have been acting out and discussing The Three Little Pigs. We have written our own versions which we are going to read to other classes.
As well as playtime and lunchtime we go out most days to keep our hearts healthy. It is chilly so that the children will need a warm coat, scarf and gloves. Please also let them wear sensible waterproof shoes.
Our outdoor learning continues as we feed the birds, check on our bulbs and work outside when we can.
Even if you don’t have time to look at the homework please could you continue to share books with your child. It really is the best way to help them. Year 2 are having reading sessions with children from Iceni this term too.
In Science we are concentrating on healthy living and healthy food.
Next half term our focus is the Tudors. There are lots of Tudor style properties in the area that you could investigate in half term.
A copy of the weekly homework letters will also be available here on the school website. A paper copy of the homework letter will be sent out on Fridays in pupils’ ‘Home – School Journals’. Please ensure homework has been completed and sign the letter. The journals should be returned to school for the following Friday.
When your child has read three times at home they can collect a reading certificate to stick in their reading record. They love collecting them and it is a good way to encourage them to read with you or by themselves.
We have P.E. on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure that your child’s P.E. bag is in school. It is so important to name clothes and shoes to ensure that they don’t get lost. Remember to take out earrings in advance too.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Canham or another member of the year two team.
