Our school

Welcome to our lovely school. We are on a shared site with Iceni Academy.

Our school was built in 1954 to serve the local community. It has changed over the years but we always retain the wonderful family ethos that is the spirit of our school.

As Headteacher from September 2012, I am proud to be part of such a great tradition.

 British Values

At King's Ford Infant School and Nursery, we celebrate British Values. We have an active School Council, elected by the children for the children. This gives children a basic understanding of what it means to be able to vote, and how elections work.

The School Council meet regularly in our school and also take part in Consortium School Council meetings with other children from local schools. They chose our school mascot, Kingston (the bear) and decided how he would help us with behaviour in assemblies.

Kingston also has a sister who is awarded to well-behaved pupils by members of the School Council.

Through our school ethos and values, we promote tolerance and understanding. This is integral to our Behaviour policy and an essential part of our Personal, Social and Emotional Education, supporting the children with decision-making and giving them an understanding of the need for rules that are fair to all.

 Disabled Access

Access for disabled pupils and parents is through our main reception. We have a designated space for disabled parking in our visitors’ car park. We also have a disabled toilet in school.
